Question #1:

My parrot only likes sunflower seeds and peanuts?

My Meyer Parrot is a least 8 years old i am guessing....really unsure of her age, the people who sold her to pet store lied to them about her age. Anyway she has been eating seed most of her life i am guessing and i want her to eat fruits, veggies, and other healthy things. Shes not really into the vegetables...Anyway i noticed all she eats out of her seed mix mostly is peanuts and sunflower seeds.

Would these other two foods be a good idea to try? The fruity looking one i can get in town, the other would have to be ordered.

Any tips on switching her to a better diet?

Thank You Any advice would be great.

Question #2:

Is there any food or fruit that could harm or poison my Lorikeet?

I have heard that there are certain natural foods that can harm or even poison parrots? What do I need to look out for when it comes to my Lorrikeet?

Question #3:

How to stop an ant invasion?

I have a problem with ants. They occasionally go for food and sugar (which is normal ant behaviour) but I have just discovered a whole army, running in three lines across the wall. I looked to see if there was anything which may have attracted them but they just came out of one small hole in the skirting board, are marching across the whole wall and back into another hole in the skirting board.

I've tried spraying them but they keep coming back. I also have two little parrots and I don't want to spray too much poison around them.

Any effective and natural way of getting rid of these critters?

Question #4:

This is strange but I need help with presents for my pets?

i have 1 female parrot, a mexican red head, gorgeous lil gal! hahaha :)
but this is difficult- she doesnt like a lot of toys and she doesnt like those special parrot treats... but she likes peanuts (no salt, of course) but is there anything that makes parrots happy? lol
and i have a cat, a bengal mix i think, and he has too many toys and no more of them lol. he onlly eats 1 kind of food, purina naturals :) whats a good "cat gift"? lololol! thanks sweeties! LY :)

Question #5:

How to get rid of ants?

I hate these stupid ants, they get into everything. We have all our food in airtight containers, and they STILL manage to get into some of it. We are not dirty, we do our dishes every night, we don't leave crumbs on the floor, I don't understand why they're coming in. And once i seal up one spot their coming in, they find another by the next day. We can't spray any pesticides, it could kill our parrot. So we are stuck with seemingly useless natural remedies....We've tried spraying vinegar (which makes the whole apartment smell nasty), putting lines of cinnamon along the wall and in the cabinets, putting out cornmeal with borax mixed in..... What else can we do? And when will the little f***ers die for the winter, or hibernate or whatever they do? It's been in the 50's and their still out in force?

Question #14:

What vine plant can I use over my koi pond?

I've recently dug a 1500 gal koi pond in my backyard. I have a 500 gal water garden that spills into the koi pond that contains hardy lilies and anacharis. The koi pond itself has hardy lilies, papyrus dwarfs, taro, cattails. pennyworts, parrot feathers and lotus in an attempt to control algae and give the koi food to nibble on when it isn't feeding time. A green free tetrapond UV is installed into a 2000 gph submersible pump that goes into a filter in an attempt to prevent algae. The problem is that my pond gets direct sun the entire day with no shade; so the water is clear in the morning, and nice and green by the evening. The filtration system then catches up every night so that it's clear again in the morning. I want to create a natural cover for the pond to block out some of the sun to prevent this unwanted cycle. I have been building a structure for a vine plant to grow in order to provide an "umbrella" over the pond; the problem is finding a suitable plant that can grow fast and is not poisonous to my koi. The original plan was to plant Wisteria because they are aggressive and have beautiful blooms, but I recently discovered that the plant is considered poisonous to my precious koi. Any suggestions and advice on pond care and what plant to choose is welcome! Thank you in advance.
