Question #2:
I want to build a polytunnel in my backyard for growing herbs, vegetables, etc.
Just wondering if it would be rather pointless as the main reason (as far as I can tell) for use would be to keep out the cold, as in England and the like. It does get cold (by my standards), but I don't know if it's cold enough to warrant a polytunnel. I'm about 30 minutes from the city by train, in the south to south-east area. Not by the water or anything either.
I love the idea of being able to keep away the birds and also some of the more harsh rain and wind.
What do you think?
Also, where would I go about finding supplies to build one? Instructions? Premade ones?
Have you found any websites with detailed instructions?
Question #3:
Has anyone know the supplier or brand or anything else about thses bunks

Question #4:
I just got a leopard gecko 4 days ago from Pet Supplies Plus. The stupid worked of course picked it up by the tail to put it in the container for me to take it home and the poor guy squealed. :( After I got home I let him out and let him adjust to his new environment. (I'm not sure what the sex is, but I'm just going to say guy to make it easier...) He has pooped twice and it's been watery and almost seedy like a bird poop. Is that normal? He seems to have somewhat of an appetite. He's interested in the gut loaded meal worms I feed him and once in a while he eats them. He only eats one at a time when he does eat them, but a few hours later I find them thrown up half digested in the cage. The temperature is fine in the tank. I tried dusting the gut loaded meal worms with the calcium supplement but it smells like fake banana and I think it turns him off from them. He won't even go after those, so I've just been trying regular meal worms but he's still throwing them up. Any suggestions? I have slate in the bottom of the cage, clean water is available, he has a moist warm hut and a dry cooler hut to stay in. Everything is just how it should be for him but he's not very healthy. It might just be stress but I'm worried. He sleeps all the time and just likes to hide in the corners of his huts, which I realize is pretty normal because they're nocturnal and not social creatures. He doesn't mind crawling onto my hand and isn't scared. I just need help. I even tried catching tiny wild crickets but he didn't want anything to do with them. Any suggestions? No I am not taking him to a vet, and I can't try crickets because I'm in a dorm at college and we aren't even supposed to have any pets but freshwater fish. I can't go to the store every few days to get fresh crickets because it's like 20 minutes away. This is getting a little ridiculous and I almost wish I never got him. They're supposed to be simple to take care of. Like my beta fish haha. But PLEASE help and quickly!
Please. Suggestions would be so helpful.
Respone to "Answers": The gecko was on sand at the pet store and I'm not sure what it was fed as there was no live insects in the tank when I got him and the store employee did not know. I am not abusing my gecko thank you very much. I am doing all that I can to make sure he tries to get better. There is no vet anywhere near here to take him to. If people can't care for babies, then why would they sell them? I'm assuming that they just sold him too early. He is so small... I made care when I caught the wild crickets to make sure they were small and found away from roads and fields where pesticides were used. I'm not a retard. Many breeders say online that they feed their geckos a staple diet of mealworms so I'm not too concerned that is the issue.
Oh and his stomach isn't bloated at all like he is impacted and he's kept down a few meal worms but throws the majority of them up btw.
Question #5:
i have a friend that can ive me a hamster but i dont have any supplies can i put the hamster in a bird cage till i buy one and what can i use for bedding and food
Question #6:
Basically, I'm drawing the word LIFE out of animals & the word ART out of art supplies in between the letters of the word LIFE to imply that life is better with art in it. Get it?
Well, for the letter 'I' I used a tree w/ a painting palette at the top as the tree leaves.
The background is the sky.
There's empty space at the top.
What art items could I use as birds in the sky?

Question #7:
i am going across state line to adopt a parrot. she has toys, but could use some new ones. Can i take her into the petsmart in that area? all the pet supply stores in my area are geared towards aquatics or dogs and cats. what bird supplies they do have are for parakeets, cockatiels and other SMALL birds.
she will be on a tether.
when we go to get her will be the only chance for quite a while that i could personally see the product before it arrives at my house in a box. she is a two year old Congo African Grey, but i am unsure if she is UTD on shots or whatnot.
and YES she will be going to a vet in my area that specializes with parrots as soon as we get her home. i would wait until then to take her in, but it is a three hour drive to the nearest petsmart or petco. if it comes down to it, i will just go in before we pick her up... i just wanted to see if i have the option to take her in too!
thank you everyone for advising me to keep Baylee away from the other birds. this was a strong concern of mine even before i read your messages, but after reading i feel that it would be best for Baylee if i shopped before we went to get her.
Skylarr! - I have been told that this parrot has been in the public many times to teach children about birds. she is comfortable in the public eye, but i am still new to her. thank you for the advice on stress! i don't want her to start associating me with stress.
and Gail - thank you for catching the 'shots'! lol. i was meaning bloodwork - such as tests for illnesses. i do NOT know why i said shots.
and thank you, i intend to be a very good companion to her and provide everything she would ever need or want!
thank you everyone!
Question #8:
I am thinking about starting up my own little rescue center in my home for small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils/mice, hamsters, birds, rats, etc... I have noticed lately that many people can no longer care for their pet, whether it's b/c they have to move somewhere that does not allow pets, or b/c they can simply no longer care for it anymore. So I have seen people advertise their pet rabbit or guinea pig for free (sometimes with all accessories including the cage).
That's where I come in and take their pet and take care of it when they no longer can. I keep them at my house in clean cages, eating healthy food and getting all the attention they need. And then I adopt them out to nice families (for a small adoption fee) that will properly take care of them (and only families that agree with the adoption application). This would be a non-profit organization, and all the money I make from the animals goes to buying food and supplies for the other animals.
B/c if you think about it, many people feed gerbils/mice and even hamsters, rabbits and guinea pigs to their snakes (or other reptiles). And if they can get even a rabbit for free (and if accessories are included too, they can either keep it or sell it) to feed it to their snake, well what's stopping them? I know some people say to "Good home only," but the buyers could just lie to get a free meal for their reptile.
So I am thinking about starting up a little rescue in my room for small animals like that. I am creating a website soon - and I just want to get some peoples opinion on if this is a good idea. Thanks!
Thanks everyone for your opinion and information so far! And Sarah, I am a freshman in High school, so I do not have a full time job right now :) And Terra, thanks for your info. and your website! I checked it out and it's awesome! Keep up the good work!
Question #9:
I just got bored to I decided to write something. The point of view is suppose to be in a guy's perspective but I'm a 14 year old girl, therefore, I have no idea if I made him sound like a dude...
Uhm, yeah, don't be rude. There's a difference between critisism and being a jerk. CAPS=italics!
At times I wonder why I wasn’t born into a normal family. I mean, is it normal for your mother to be obsessed with exotic birds and every fact about them? No, it’s not. It’s normal for your mother to be obsessed with the QVC shopping network on television. THAT'S normal. It’s also pretty strange when you’re twin sister is convinced witch craft actually works. Magic is not real, and being persuaded into thinking so is just plain NOT NORMAL. Do you see where I’m going with this now? I’m the only sane person in my house, and it’s just about time I get pulled onto the crazy train. There’s only one thing about my life that is normal; my school life. In school, I’m a jock and I have a beautiful, popular girlfriend. I have friends, I have good grades, and I’m pretty much good at, well, everything.
I wouldn’t say I’m cocky per say. I’m just very confident, very, very confident. I mean, everyone wants to know me, be me, do me, whatever. As long as nobody knows my little secret, I’ll go down in history as the guy who had it all.
“Mom said that you have to take me to Charmed or else you can’t buy new painting supplies.” Eliza says, in her squeaky voice. She has school notes written all over her arms, because she doesn’t believe in wasting paper on school related stuff, or something like that. She always gets in trouble for it, but for some reason never actually GETS in trouble for it. She says she puts spells on the teachers. I say she’s nuts and needs to be put on medication.
“Why do I have to take you? I hate Charmed.” I roll my eyes and she crosses her arms. Charmed was some cheap shack filled with plastic skulls and colorful candles. They claimed to be a witch craft store, and Eliza insists on going at least once every two weeks so she can stock up on more, well, frankly I don’t even know what she buys there. I don’t GO there!
“Mom said.” Eliza smirked at me as she leans against my door way. I get up and shrug passed to her to find my creator.
Yeah, I don't know. I had an idea and if this is any good I think I want to finish it, for me obviously.
Thanks! :)
Yahoo! took out my indents, just so you know.
Joe S, that last line threw me off and now I have no idea if that was positive or negetive. I'm going to go with negetive.
id like to point out this is like, really short. so obviously nobody but me knows where i want it to go. but i am taking all of the advice.
Question #10:
I live with my parents who are complete slobs. I've been gone for four days and the dishes haven't even been touched. There are dirty dishes all over the place that are still full of food and collecting flies. I couldn't even set my purse down on the table not to mention walk on the floor without having to kick something to the side. My mom is so lazy, she doesn't even flush the toilet or wash her hands. We have 8 exotic birds that are screaming constnatly. Instead of staying in their cages they are free to walk around chewing up things and pooping all over the floor. My mom also spends a lot of her time collecting random things like figurines, dolls, and craft supplies which are displayed randomly all over the house.
I work and go to school full time. During the school year I stay at the library until midnight or later because I can't concentrate on my studies in this mess. I'm too embarassed to bring friends over and if I do, I give them a half our lecture about how messy my house is and not to be suprised.
My step dad came into my room one time looked around and said "Wow. It's really clean in here. Why can't you keep the rest of this house clean?".. when the night before I saw him going through the fridge.. accidently dropped a pizza box.. and just left it there on the floor.
What is wrong with these people? I don't understand how they can be satisfied living this way.

Question #12:
Hey Everyone :]
I want to get a pet soon, but I can't decide which one. I won't be getting it for several months, so I can research and collect all the supplies I'll need. If it matters I am 15 years old and extremely responsible with pets.
I am not allowed to get mice, rats, hamsters, gerbils, hedgehogs, ferrets or rabbits over 4 LBS. It has to be a rodent, no birds, anphibians or reptiles. It needs to be under 5 LBS. It would be best if it's available in petstores, but I can settle for a breeder. I don't want something that's prone to biting or something that dies easily.
I've thought of a few animals, and I think I've narrowed it down. However, I'm open to other suggestions, as long as they follow the rules I listed above. I was thinking a Netherland Dwarf Rabbit, a Mini Lionhead Rabbit, a Guinea Pig, or a Chinchilla.
1. What small pet should I get and why?
2. Can you give me some helpful websites on the animal you suggested?
3. What basic supplies do I need for these animals?
That's all for now, but if you want to give me any more information on any of the animals, I'll be glad to take it. The most detailed answer gets ten points. If you have an open question, feel free to post the link and I'll try to answer it.
And lastly, no rude answers please. Thanks :-D

I want a rodent, not fish. And I'm not allowed to get a hamster.

Question #14:
Well, 2 days ago my best friend/parakeet, Angel, was attacked by the family cat (yikes!!!).
He has a number of little cuts around him that have turned his feathers red, and a little wound on his chest. He also has (this is the biggest wound) an open wound under his left wing, where if the cat's claw went any bit to the right, it would have punctured his air sac and killed him. This open wound is the real concern of the avian/mammal(?) vet that we went to. He was very nice and showed me how to catch the bird every day and pot half a drop of antibiotics in his mouth twice a day, and put a diluted betodine solution on the wound under his wing once a day. I must do all of this for one week.
BUT, I have supplied in my birdie's hospital cage the following foods:
1.) Millet Spray
2.) Fresh lettuce changed every 2 hours (to prevent him eating anything spoiled)
3.) a treat seed stick (orange flavor:)
4.) regular bird seed sprinkled over the treat seed if he doesn't have the strength to nibble off the rock hard treat seeds
5.) a water silo thing (outside of the cage the water bottle rests, but on the inside you slip a little cup through the bars so the water is always fresh.) which I change every 1/2 day.
Well, now that you know what I've been feeding him, do you have any suggestions of veggies to feed my baby during his time of recovery? We usually keep broccoli, cauliflower, tomato, grape, apple, pear, and 1/2 hour boiled egg around the house to feed my little buddy.
I need foods for strength, healing, and balance, as he has been climbing to the top of the cage every day and hung upside down as a regular routine of birdie aerobics.
Question #15:
Well I have 2 Cockatoo birds(partners) and they laid 4 eggs. Its been 2 months since they had them and they won't do anything to make them hatch. 2 of the eggs were cracked by their parents so there dead and there are only 2 eggs left. How do I make the 2 eggs hatch without its parents?? How can I keep the eggs warm. What supplies will I need???
Question #16:
I have a male lovebird and I just got him like 10 days ago; he is already used to our home and is very happy. Well he's pretty much supposed to be my bird, because I'm the one who convinced my parents to get him in the first place, sorted out everything with the breeder, picked out all the supplies, cleans his cage, changes his food and water, and takes care of him.
I take him out every day for about an hour, and my 8-year-old brother usually plays with him too. Well recently I noticed that my bird is like completely attached to my brother.
--Wherever my brother goes, my bird follows him.
--He always climbs up my brother's arm and stays on his shoulder and won't come down. I try to get him to go on my finger but he won't budge!
-- If me and my brother both call out to him at the same time, he'll go towards my brother.
I just think it's so not fair because I"m the one who takes care of him and does all the dirty work and my lovebird likes my little brother more than me! For no reason! We both spend the same amount of time with him so I don't know why.
Why is my lovebird attached to my brother and like him more than me? Is it because he's younger or what? And how can I switch it around so that my bird likes me? Because my brother is not old enough and not responsible enough.
Please help! Thanks!

Question #18:
In my latest act of kindness, I am helping to spread awareness of the dangers of the H5N1 virus to the world. In order to do this, I am secretly lacing the food and water supplies of the local homeless shelters and schools with the virus. The intention is that the resulting outbreak of the virus will cause a public panic, and lead people to realize the dangers of the H5N1 virus.
In addition, I am also spreading the virus amongst the bird population, so that the virus will continue to have effects so that the people will not forget the dangers of this looming threat to our existence.
Now, this isn't the most exiting task in the world, so I ask you, R&P, what are some fitting and inspirational songs that I can use to keep me going?

Question #19:
In a landfill, condoms are designed to never fail so there for wouldnt they take a lot longer then a plastic bottle to degrade? In the mean time all these used condoms, a lot most been incontact with HIV are laying there. What if birds eat these and get infected with HIV and then something else eats them and comes back to our food supply?
Question #20:
I found a dead (I hope..he could just be tricking me and laying in wait) spider in a dish in my corner (ok, not MY dish, it was with my bird supplies). It could be a baby/young/not grown spider. It is very small, about the size of my fingernail (pointer, not thumb), and ..thick. It's legs are thicker, not thin like cellar/daddy long legs and it is also furry. It has stripes on it's lower body (horizontal) and a long thin stripe on it's upper body (vertical) . It is brown, a light color
Oh, yes, I live in the center of Wisconsin. I've never seen one of these. It's body type is similar to the jumping spiders around here, but then again, they are darker and with brighter patches.
